John Hayes & Eric Lawson

● Session 03  ·  Filmed at The Music Room, Erie, Colorado

The artist

John Hayes is a Denver electronic producer, originally from Minneapolis, who spent years making intimate piano-driven and ambient records before turning toward something bigger. This session was the release show for Closer, out on Nettwerk in January 2026, and it steps deliberately into a wider electronic sound, tracks built to hold up in a quiet room and in a club.

Eric Lawson is the other half of what you are watching. He is not playing an instrument: he built the visuals and the lighting, which on this night were as much the performance as the music.

Both of them work at The Music Room. We are a shop full of working musicians, and when one of them puts a record out we give them the room the same as anyone else, same crew, same microphones, same terms, and they keep everything.
